W4CQ Reverse Ranger Program
The Reverse Rangers are a network of W4CQ members who have dedicated a radio to monitor and record the traffic heard on our repeaters’ input frequencies.
In the event of QRM, an email noting the time of the offense is sent to the Rangers so they can check if the offending station was heard directly.
The resulting “hits on reverse” are evaluated, and once an approximate location of the offending station is calculated, a fox hunt is organized and executed.
The W4CQ Reverse Ranger Program works closely with the FCC and is equipped with state-of-the-art doppler, and TDOA tracking equipment.
QRM’ers be warned: The Rangers are operating at a 100% success rate.
