Skywarn Spotter Training 2014

Skywarn Spotter Training 2014

The Skywarn Spotter Training class was held right on schedule April 12, 2014 at the Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. It was a huge turnout with full attendance and a great time was had by all.

From Chris Gay:

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone for making last weekend’s Skywarn training a huge success! We had a over 60 people in attendance.

Thank you again Tony for coming to Charlotte and giving these courses. Thank you to the Charlotte Amateur Radio Club (W4CQ) and the Charlotte Salvation Army for letting us use the facilities & equipment and for the pizza at the break!

If you are a Amateur Radio Operator, during severe weather events, please tune into 145.230 (- offset) Tone 118.8. This is the official Skywarn Repeater for the entire Western Piedmont and Charlotte Metro. We can take your severe weather reports and pass them to the NWS in Greer.

For those that are not Amateur Radio Operators, we’re not leaving you out 🙂 You can always contact the NWS direct at the 1-800 number given on your magnet, but Charlotte Skywarn also is on Social Media! So hit us up on Twitter @CLTSkywarn or Facebook Charlotte Regional Skywarn. You can also tag the NWS on twitter using the Hash Tag #NWSGSP or direct @NWSGSP .

Again, thanks to everyone for making this a huge success!
